I did some benchmarking tests before the eventual GPU change. RTX 3090 is now with the postie and should be with me within the day or two.

I finally nabbed an RTX 3090 GPU! It's  Zotac GAMING GeForce RTX 3090 Trinity 24GB  and it will be coming from Scorptec. I placed the order at 2:24pm and it was marked ready to be dispatched by 4:26pm. Thanks to the good people at Whirlpool for the heads up. The stock was quickly depleted after a forum posting.

Another hectic launch!  Most sites collapsed (again) due to the horde and very limited stock. I managed to placed an order for  GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 SG (1-Click OC), 24GB with Scorptec . It was in stock but after receiving order confirmation, delivery is TBA. If I lost the allocation, then I'll cancel the order and will just wait it out with my RTX 3080 pre-order with PLE. 26/09 update: I missed out on the launch stock allocation so I cancelled my order.

EBGames collapsed under the pre-order strain this 8am so I failed to get one in with them (unlike with PS5 last week). So I went with Microsoft store with a pre-order process that was painless. It's a 'Delivery' though, not my preferred 'Pick up'. But at least we'll have a unit this coming Nov 10 launch. A few minutes later, Microsoft store run out of stock. And then EBGames tweeted that their launch date stock allocation also run out. Wow! So we'll have Xbox Series X on Nov 10 and then PS5 on Nov 12. That will be an interesting week!

Our PS4 Pro is a bit noisy now, probably due to its aging mechanical hard-drive.  Anyway, I managed to pre-order yesterday “ PlayStation 5 Console ” with EBGames (at $200 deposit) and did it just in time for Nov 12 launch delivery date. Whew! Allocation is sold out worldwide and next pre-orders will have 2021 delivery. Ouch! Our PS4  to PS5 order history at EBGames: This 2016 unit somehow died and was promptly replaced under warranty: Yesterday: Perhaps a week before Nov 12 launch date, I'll pop by EBGames to trade-in all our PS4 gear in exchange for credit which of course will go to PS5 payment completion. 

Pre-ordered at PLE for $1,259.00. Now the waiting game begins..... 5/10 update: cancelled the order last week (29/9), refund received today. cancelled due to 1) no ETA from PLE and 2) purchase of Zotac RTX 3090.
